The question should be why I'm still a fan, because there are a lot of bands that I liked for a short time and then forgot.
I fell in love with the Pumpkins eight years ago and there are songs that still make me cry although I know them for years. The songs of the Pumpkins allways cause a certain feeling in me, something like a happy melancholy. Maybe this is the magic and the reason why I believe that my love to this band will not change the next years.
