Hey Jimmy,I have to admit I've only recently become a pumpkins fan, primarily because of your Modern Drummer interview. Of course I got a copy of the new CD the day I read the interview and instantly connected to your drumming. I think this has a lot to do with the fact that we share many of the same drumming influences. Of partiular interest is your reference to Bobby Caldwell and Captain Beyond. I've been listening to the Captain Beyond album since the year it came out and it is still one of my all time favorites! Great stuff, way before their time! I was fortunate enough to see them in the early 70's at a bar within a few blocks of the Township Auditorium in Columbia SC where The Smashing pumpkins are playing Nov. 9th 2007.(Can't wait!) Anyway I stood about 10 feet from Bobby Caldwell, just completely blown away! Of note also is that I saw Pink Floyd at the Township Auditorium in 1972 when I was 15, Tripping on orange sunshine! The place has a great history and I am really looking forward to seeing "ya'll" there!...Olin Pate
