Firstly, don't expect a Pumpkins sound. in zwan you could find the musical link, in the future embrace the only sp link in terms of sound is billy unmistakable voice. the music is a new direction for billy, which i am sad he hasn't carried on (publically anyway), 'walking shade' is in my opinion as good as any single that SP has released. album tracks like 'now and then' and 'strayz' are beautiful and will appeal to SP fans who like 'adore'.
its a shame most people only know the name Smashing Pumpkins and not Billy Corgan, if this cd had Smashing pumpkins written on it i think it would have been a huge success, its a shame it works out like that.
my only disappointment with the future embrace was the limited size of the tour (probably due to poor cd sales), as i live in manchester i was gutted that Billy did two shows in London and no more in the UK, i priced it out and for ticket, travel to london, hotel and food it would have been £300 which is $600, i couldn't afford that!
maybe Corgan will return to this style of music in the future, on Zeitgeist i find the track 'God and Country' to be the nearest to the future embrace sound. i think the people who like TFE were most suprised by Billy's return to rock music (not that it is a bad thing at all, coz its always good to see billy with his guitar!)
anyway, buy this album!
