rebirth of the pumpkins

it's different. way too different for that matter because the gish-siamese dream and MCIS sound is not there anymore. it was gone without warning or a smooth transition. it's like listening to a new band. and that's what turned most pumpkinheads off. some were dumbfounded and some were even angry. but i actually like it (not as much as i liked gish and siamese dream though). i'm still deeply rooted to that era of the band when billy still has his hair with him, but i don't dismiss something good when it sounds so different from it just like that-as was the case for adore. wihtout change, there wouldn't be any progress at all. the problem is that not all think that way.

i love crestfallen and it's insecurities. ava adore is just plain beautiful. it's like a perfect love song, then billy chews it all up and he spits it in your face, and the reult is a perfectly beautiful song. billy's genius shine on that one. tear and for martha are also beautiful. the only one i couldn't figure out though was perfect. it's so cheesy.

some sp fans had a hard time with the new sound, but i actually think it's a good album. the insane distortions may be gone (except for the songs for martha and ava adore) and the layered guitars may be gone as well, but the consolation is a more moody and eclectic sp then armed with drum machines and synths. beauty can be perceived from it as long as you wouldn't stay stagnant with the band's old materials. and that's coming from a gish-siamese dream fan
