I have a hard time understanding how people can vote this album as anything less than 4 stars... any TRUE Pumpkin fan knows Billy's love and skill with electronic music. I will admit that the first couple times I listened to this album, it didn't do much for me... but like MANY great albums, it just took some time to grow in me. Soon enough I began completely loving certain songs, until I eventually loved the entire album. A lot of it for me is the tonal qualities he experiments with, very unique and unlike anything I've heard elsewhere; then there's the lyrics, extremely deep, from the heart... some songs like Now (And Then) and Sorrows (in blue) literally sometimes make me want to cry. Mina Loy is just an incredible song, period.
This album formed a very personal meaning to me, I think if one truly gives it the chance it deserves, they would likely come to the same conclusion.
