The Smashing Pumpkins were the first band I ever found that I could truley relate to. There were things I was feeling and thinking that I could never find the words to articulate, but the first time I listened to Mellon Collie I found them summed up in a couple sentences or a few words. On top of that, hearing them just makes me happy. They remind me of my childhood, and I'm a very nostalgic person and had an awesome childhood, so that's a great feeling. Simply put, they're amazing.
