Be Yourself

Well, I'm going to get to the point. I became a much happier person when I stopped listening to them. I don't think it is healthy for the listener to idolize another human being just for making music. I have nothing against Billy or Jimmy or them wanting to make money or push their ideas on others... but think about it. I don't want to sound condescending, either. I really don't. I want to help. Deep down, do you think Billy would put so much marketing effort into trying to get people to buy his cd's if his main goal was helping people? He's made millions but still wants more of your money -- money from people with low-paying jobs. And you get really dark, depressing, music and the chance to idolize someone with good ( not great ) musical abilities. It's not a win-win. Again, I'm not putting anyone down -- either the band or the fans, but I promise you that everyone reading this is just as talented as Billy or Jimmy. Maybe it isn't making rock music. Maybe it's helping others. Doing charity work. Creating a more positive future instead of some weird, Christian-apacolyptic music. I love Billy -- just like I love everyone. I don't belong to any religion, but I care about you all -- and the band too. It's not healthy for them to believe that they are this essential part of people's lives. Think for yourself. Don't let them do it for you. Thanks for reading -- please be kind with the replies.
One more thing -- I do think they have good intentions, but the band / fan relationship isn't healthy for either party involved.
