The Pumpkins always seemed like the outcasts of all the cool 90s bands, even though they were huge, it seemed like only very certain kinds of people really got them. I love the way Billy Corgan's lyrics make everyday life seem grandiose, thrilling, world-ending, or utterly sublime within heartbeats of one another. Finally seeing them live this year was worth the sprained foot.
