My big sister, Emma used to play Siamese Dream non stop back in 93/94, I liked The Pumpkins back then. I was eight. Mellon Collie was the first album i bought myself. Their ability to be brutal and rocking, yet dreamy and psychedelic is something that took me in from the start. Every album has been a "leap off the edge" and I respect them for that. Honesty, Integrity. Billy's guitar solos, Jimmy's huge chops. Taking the band seriously but not too seriously. They respect the fans. No other band comes close to having the heart they do. Just my humble opinion.
