ok you asked but this might be a lil' campy.
1. The SP music and lyrics bring validity to some of my deepest emotions in a way that is both poetic and poignant. I can't tell you how many times I've sang "i shall be free from these voices inside me" or listened to frail and bedazzled only to look down at my speedometer and realize 'oh shit'. "bodies" is one of my favorite songs to listen to when I find myself in yet another shitty relationship. 1979 reminds me of being a kid and causing mischief as well as the hope of childish innocence...just a few examples. In these ways I feel inspired to create, against the odds..personal and universally?.
2. I'm a guitarist and I personally love Corgan's melodic and spirited guitar ideas that are beyond the safe confines of much of rock/indie rock music today. many of his riffs would sound killer with an orchestra..like cherub rock and some have this eastern influence that is really cool. chamberlain is brilliant too, his drumming is at times like a banshee crushing a skull..haha but it always seems just perfect for wherever the band wants to bring the audience.
3. I understand the need for someone as widely known as the pumpkins to have some privacy but I really appreciate their attempts, such as the journals, their hefty touring schedule or this website, to not remain soo distant and enigmatic from their fans (like bob dylan, but to each their own).
4. I was shocked but really happy that my favorite band is actively doing something to protest how corrupt and totalitarian the bush admin. and its cohorts are behaving. Thanks for this bold new album!
