May 13, 2008 - My band The Industry Standard

hey everyone! My band The Industry Standard have one demo song up on their myspace at the moment and I thought that you music loving pumpkins fans would want to hear ne music and tell us what you think! the bands myspace is www.myspace.com/theindustrystandardband so go on and tell us what you think! we'll be recording our e.p. in the summer and we've been together under a different name for around 3 years, we're all only 14 so bare that in mind haha hope everyone is well and enjoys the music! Long live the mighty SP!

i understand it's hard to picture when there is only one song up
i will repost it here when the e.p. is finished
the rest of the songs aren't as heavy as that one, that was just the one we decided to record at the time
the vocals are rough aswell, just a bad day singing wise i think!

Well the playing is quite good for such a young group, but the vocals are fairly bad, which I suspect has something to do with how young you all are. People tend to come into their voices quite a bit as they age, so this is something that you probably won't be able to address except as time goes by.

Not really my thing, and the opening is very Zeitgeist (which is not a good thing, imo,) but I wish you guys the best of luck, and I'm really impressed with your ambition.

sounds promising, great sound for how young you all are! i'd like to hear more than one song though, kinda hard to get where your going with your music, but i'd say give it another two years and your sound should be really solid. keep it up!

that can explain the overconfidance you have: It's new and it's different so be prepared. The opening is cliché Pumpkins rip off and the rest, while well played, isn't much more original. I'd say wait for the E.P. until you've found your own sound.
