Because the Smashing Pumpkins changed my life. They got me into playing guitar and their music hit me personally and makes me feel better. They got me into bands I never heard of before such as My Bloody Valentine, Bauhaus, and more. Before them I was listening to crappy Pop Punk. Then I heard Smashing Pumpkins and was like "wow". I will always remember watching VH1's 100 greatest hard rock artists countdown then "Bullet With Butterfly Wings" came on. I was like "Holy shit thats powerful!". I was about 12 or 13 then I was just getting into bands I would still listen to today. "Siamese Dream" is my favorite cd of all time. I can listen to it over and over again without getting sick of it. I own all the Smashing Pumpkins cds now. The music makes me feel happy even though some call it depressing it isn't like that to me. Songs like "Thru The Eyes Of Ruby", "Soma", "Today", "Hummer", more make me happy. I can always look to the Pumpkins for every musical mood. Happy, Sad, Angry, Slow, Fast, and whatever else. I am a fan because I love the music.
