I was someone introduced to the Pumpkins right before the split, but listening to MCIS was like no other experience. "By Starlight" completely intoxicated me with thoughts of what I wanted love to be for me. While I haven't experience "true love," my longing to live a life of love lingers on. I can tell you, every time a relationship ends for me, I always think back to the lyric, "love is suicide." To me the Smashing Pumpkins have covered my entire life and changed my thought patterns from one concerned with a career and money, to one of faith, compassion, and love.
