I'm trying to think what year it was I was in first grade, because that is when I started listening to the Smashing Pumpkins. I think it was 1993 or 4. My older brother was/is also a die-hard fan but at the time, I could only listen to his cd's in his cd player in his room while he wasn't there. Everytime my bro would let me ride in his car I would ask him to put his smashing pumpkins cassette in. If I remember correctly, the first Pumpkins song I heard was 1979 and I fell in love. I expanded my taste with my bro's 27 pumpkins cds which included every single cd they had come out with (not including all of the vinyls he had but I couldn't listen to because there was no record player at our house). I was HEART BROKEN when I listened to the Pumpkin's "last concert" on the radio when I was in middle school. I thought I would never get a chance to see them, seeing as how I was finally old enough to go to concerts and here they were breaking up..... I had Viewphoria and the 91-2000 video collection, and i got Earphoria while i was in a small CD store in Ireland. Seeing the Pumpkins play live on a video just wasn't as good. When they reunited and I got tickets to the halloween show in Atlanta, I was SO [bad word removed]ing happy! When the show finally arrived (Which ended up being on Nov 16th instead because Jimmy got sick) words can't describe how happy I was to finally hear that beautiful music in my ears.
