A bit more in-depth:

I started out listening to Zwan. I'll just say this right now, I was about 6 years old when MCIS was released, so I was way too young to really be a fan, you know? Later, I couldn't sleep one night, and the radio started playing this intro, and the DJ announced that it was Billy's new band. I always liked the stuff I heard on the radio from the Pumpkins, and I was in love. I bought the album and learned all the drum parts to it. I loved it and was hooked, but that was Zwan. Think of it as a "prequel" (I really hate that word).


Later that year, I saw Evanescence. Yes, I know, BUT it was a free ticket. I didn't like them then, but hey, honestly, would YOU turn down a free ticket? They did a cover of Zero, which sucked, but I some how remembered how much I liked that song. I then asked for MCIS for Christmas (Granted this was 2003). I fell in love with it, and the rest, well, I think you can guess what happened from there (some-ungodly-amount of money later, I own the entire discography, vinyl copies of Gish and Siamese Dream, 20 bootlegs, and one Aeroplane Flies High box set.)
