I Never purchased music. I never cared.

My memories of music were lionel richie or madonna coming on the lite FM station in the 80s growing up in NYC. I would dance around and make my mother laugh. It was all pop in my eyes. Meaningless BS and filler and stuff to play at weddings.

I wanted to own cds to see what it was like when I was in junior high school-
the longboxes and the concept of music on a plastic disk seemed very innovative to me then.
My first two were nevermind and billy joel's river of dreams. I hardly listened to them.

When I heard Bullet with Butterfly Wings on the radio in High School that all changed.

After absorbing MCIS, I bought Pisces, Vieuphoria, Gish and finally Siamese Dream. I have been to see the Pumpkins on every tour since I started listening to them and I have learned how to play the guitar.

At first my friends used to criticize me for singing and writing and trying to play like Billy. Luckily my voice changed, so I had to find my own. And thankfully, I never stopped playing guitar. I am pretty kick-ass now and I have my own style. And although my band(s) don't sound like SP, I owe it all to them - or really. Just Billy.
