i've never written a blog on here before so i thought i'd go ahead and do it.
the superchrist video came out today. it was really dissappointing for me personally. i was looking forward to seeing billy and jimmy rocking out with this awesome song and only saw old men on a bass and tamborine. whoever directed the video shouldn't be a director and should stay far away from the pumpkins; or maybe the pumpkins should stay far away from each other. they've done nothing but dissappointing things for me since they've reunited. when zeitgeist came out, it was enjoyable as hell. i saw them live in asheville NC 5 days before it was released, and although billy sounded shitty, the music was enjoyable and i was just excited to have been in the pumpkins' presence. after i bought every single release of the album, i realized i was getting fckt over by them. it was really depressing because the pumpkins have been my heroes ever since i heard them when i was 13. i remember reading in rolling stone and on netphoria and stuff that "billy wanted his pumpkins back" back in 2005 and i flipped my shit because it was something i'd been wishing for.. but now i regret wishing for it. not only have they become money loving old men, but they have not become the pumpkins that they once were and set out to be when they got back together. i'm not comparing them musically, i'm talking about personally. they never released 7 versions of MCIS or sold Lull for $15. what i'm saying seems to be controversial around here, but i'm not the only one who sees this. some people can just shrug it off and still love this band as much as they ever have. but i cannot. they've been replaced from their 4 year hold of top favorite band of mine by a band that gives a fck about their fans, that reaches out, that doesn't starve us of money, that doesn't release unneccessary amounts of the same CD. and although this blog entry may sound pissed off and cynical, i'm really just depressed and hurt that the pumpkins have made themselves look like idiots.

i can't tell you to like who you don't like, but just for the fact i'll say that i believe it's not as bad as you put it...

I happen to agree with him that an artist shouldn't be obeying their fans, but it's the other way around. and when a person doesn't like the artist, he can just walk away. but otherwise... it's a sellout. and billy very obivously hasn't done that. (I've been lately wondering if in case REM have.. :/) And his bitter sarcasm proves that he isn't just mean to his fans (in some cases), but he's a little bit (or more..) [bad word removed]ed up (by the situation that repeats itself). Maybe that's not the way to put it either... but that man hasn't lost his values, perhaps he's just not willing to be a slave.. and with the place that he has in the world, he feels he is made to be one. that's why all the bitterness and walking off stages and weird speeches (honestly, he's given a lot VERY awkward ones lately)...

yep, i do understand. back in 1996, i didn't get to go to the concert, but my best friend did and they cut the show short. my friend said billy was mad cause it didn't sell out and he said the crowd sucked and they walked off stage and that was it. that hurt me when i found out, i couldn't imagine how i would have felt if i had been there! it took some time, but i got over it. so, maybe like you said, you just need some time. but, it really is a shame that they do some of the things they do. but i try to forgive them, just because they are so talented, and their music and billy's lyrics make me feel so many emotions. hopefully, after a while you will feel better. like anything else, it just takes time.

i can kinda understand where you're coming from about being hurt by some of the things sp has done. i don't agree with some of their decisions, but i still love their music. to me, it's sorta like being in a roller coaster relationship. they have their ups and downs, but for me there are more ups than downs.
