In 1989 when I was nine years old my mom was a reporter for this small town local radio station.  They received a lot of promo tapes and cd's.  One of the dj's there had received Gish and wasn't able to use it because it didn't follow the current  format  of the station.  Sometimes I would go with my mom to work, for she would have to do the five am news and I like getting up early.  Well the dj was just getting off the night shift and he said "Hey Les, these guys have a funny name, I think you'll like them."  I went into one of the other booths and listened to it on giant head phones.  When the song Rhinoceros came on I thought U had just heard the voice of god and it was telling me "this was greatness."  Then I flicked the switch that must never be switched and the smashing pumpkins was broadcast for the first time in Aberdeen south dakota.  I was just screwing around and did It by accident but that's not as good of a story.  I loved them then and still to this day,  I guess that's enough cheese.
