I have been a Smashing Pumpkins fan since Siamese Dream came out. My boyfriend at the time used to play them and i thought "who is this...it's incredible" Since that i was hooked and we would listen to that album every night. I then ensured i had the complete collection of albums and would buy every one and enjoy them all for their individuality.
Smashing pumpkins are utterly amazing. Billy can write songs which are full of such emotion, i can feel his pain and happyness when i hear them. Musically i think they play some of the most complex sounds going! I can listen to pumpkins earlier albums and still now think how unique and fresh they sound.
I am proud to be a Pumpkins fan. Unfortunately none of my friends and family seem to know they exsist and i am unable to open the minds of people to give their music a chance. Too many people are interested in chart music and the latest new rock bands like MCR and FOB. To put those bands in the same catergory is an insult, but hey each to their own. I hate commercially produced bands and these common day 'rock' bands who sing songs aimed for teenagers!!
The Smashing Pumpkins are a fans dream because time after time they offer songs which are totally different from their others. They can't be compared to any other band, do not sound like any other band and in my eyes, there will never be a better band.
Respect to Billy Corgan. You are the greatest song writer in the world and your talents are beyond belief. I have grown up listening to your music and each album and certain songs hold memories of my life which will be with me always.
