I went down my local highstreet today
And this dude was standing outside McDonald's
And he was wearing a SP t-shirt that I had never seen before
And I ask where he got it from and he said when he saw them in 1993 and
He said how he was glad that the younger generation still like the Pumpkins
I was well proud

WHY I'M A FAN
Admittedly, I've only been a fan since July 2007 but since then I have been obsessed. I have decorated my school locker with paintings my sister drew of Billy for me, and all the articles of Smashing Pumpkins I can find in rock magasines, and I have made a school bag that has the SP flag on the front.
I saw them at The Route Du Rock Festival in France on my summer holidays, and just by chance they were playing so I decided to go. As a drummer myself, I fell in love with Jimmy Chamberlin's awesome beats and Billy's awesome guitar solos so as soon as I got back to England, I bought my album of Zeitgesit and downloaded every other song that they ever made off iTunes and haven't stopped playing them since.
I also love the fact that My Chemical Romance and Madina Lake, two of my most favourite bands love SP too, and its so awesome to hear the music that inspired some of the great music that they made.
I also love finding stuff out about all the members as they have such awesome history, as well as the band- and one of the other best things about the Pumpkins, is that as they are kind of unheard of in England, I am a fan because of their music, not because I'm following the crowd.
