It seems odd writing something trying to say why I am a fan.I had left home at a young age, and was really having a hard time with life in general. I moved all the way to Arizona and tried to be on my own. I had a few friends, one of them ironically was named Brandy. One night over at her apartment, we were listening to tapes (lol yes, cassettes!) And I was browsing through her collection. I saw this one titled "Smashing Pumpkins" and was making fun of it. She told me it was "actually pretty good" and let me borrow it. The first song I heard was Suffer and I was hooked. Needless to say, she never got her tape back. (sorry girl!) I am so thankful to have discovered such an amazing band. There were so many times where everything would be wrong but hearing a particular song would help me cope. I guess that's my story.
