It's hard to be concise with why I'm a fan...I guess it's because the Pumpkins broke the rules with their music. They went against the mainstream and every single album has that something special about it, whether or not it was a huge success or was "radio friendly" or what they were putting out there was the "in thing" at the time. They remain an island unto themselves with their style and creativity, and I find myself getting lost in the music...and really wishing I wasn't so musically challenged. The band has also gotten me through some of the roughest times of my life..death of loved ones, my brother's cancer and relapse, even stupid stuff like breaking up...the music just speaks to you.
