I picked up the Red Album by Weezer last week...
its a pretty good album and it has some really great songs on it...
one song in particular that i love is Heart Songs...
I know Billy sang about "heart songs" on the Zwan album, and I think Weezer did an excellent job with the concept...
I saw some stuff on the internet saying "Heart Songs" might be the worst Weezer song ever...
I think it might have just been some fan who is like your typical casual pumpkins fan, they liked siamese dream and Mellon Collie, but they really don't like the rest...
lol...okay thats a bit extreme but you know who I'm talking about...
I think there are lots of fans out there that don't take this shit to heart anymore...
people that didn't live breathe and shit zeitgeist for 6 months straight...
some people don't give an artist's new music a chance, maybe they don't really connect with it anymore, so they trash it because they don't want to or care to understand it, but to some people these are the Heart Songs...
I thank god, the universe, the wicked hands of destiny and all the stars that people like Rivers Cuomo and Billy Corgan still make music, giving me songs for my black and broken heart...
but its cool to hate, its not only cool, its natural...
hatred lives in us all...

I just read your comment about being at the Orange Peel and hearing TAFH during sound check - we were there on the 23rd and 29th and got to hear it while in line on the 29th. Yeah, we could have died - it was so awesome...it's my hubby's favorite SP song. I really never expected to hear it...and getting to hear them tweak it through the windows during sound check was incredible.
That's what got me to click on your profile, and then I read your comments about Heart Songs. I totally agree. We got the Red Album as soon as it came out too, and I listened to that song over and over again. It made me nostalgic for the "good 'ol days". The 90's were tough, just like any other decade, but I'm really glad I "grew up" during that particular time in history...and music was a MAJOR part of the experience...and still is. I cherish the past and look forward to the future...including the Pumpkins.

P.S. - If someone has never "gotten" Weezer, they may not ever. You have to have an appreciation for Rivers' style...I love it too. (He's no Billy, but you got to love him).

Is absolutly amazing. You were fortunate enough to have this amazing band take you on a journey through out your life. Geez your memory is impecable. How did you remember all those dates? lol
You know what the good thing is though, unlike bands that are "past" we are all on the ship, heading toward pumpkin planet.
There is more adventures ahead.
Now that to me is music my friend, songs that go with you side by side in life. Leading the way to the ultimate adventure.
All their music is fvcking amazing.

Australian fans have been listening to SP music for 20 years as well so why not get an anniversary show.

The world is a big place not just a land of democracy and war mongers if you get my drift.
I know a band that is not at all pleased with the country they live in you should listen to them. They have even voiced a couple of political issues as well. Oh sorry the name of the band is Smashing Pumpkins, have you heard of them
