yo, looks like I can accept people but not add them. weird. anyways, pumpkins are making the wait for cd more bearable. Pumpkins are all I've been listening to for the last couple weeks, I forgot how amazing they were for a while. Mellon Collie is the best double album since Physical Graffiti (not counting UYI as a true double album)

WHY I'M A FAN
having lived my entire life in the suburbs of the greatest city in the world, Chicago, it's pretty hard to not know about the Pumpkins and their legacy.

sadly, i wasn't old enough to remember the release of Siamese Dream or Mellon Collie, or really care about Adore and the two Machina albums. but age aside, i love the Pumpkins, and i am excited to share with everyone this new era for the band.

the first time i heard of the Pumpkins was in 7th grade from my home economics partner, Max. he introduced the band to me while we struggled to make cakes and other 'important' things. it's funny, while looking back at it, that i learned more about the Pumpkins than i did about the different utensils in the kitchen. oh well.

the next year my love for the Pumpkins increased because of my reading teacher, Mr. Kuch, who was a huge Pumpkin fan. his love for the band transfered to me, as we discussed the hope of someday there being a reunion, although he had lost hope, i was still an optimist. i guess that has to do with the fact that i'm also a Guns N' Roses fan, but that aside, time went on...

then, the summer going into my sophomore year, while ready to buy Billy's FutureEmbrace i heard that Billy wanted to reunite the Pumpkins, and i hit the roof. i was extremely excited, and since then, it's only gotten better.

with the release of Tarantula, the tour that's...NOT IN CHICAGO..., seeing the new band rock out to the classics and new songs and, most obviously, the anticipation of Zeitgeist, i'm excited for when the Pumpkins finally COME HOME and play some shows and when i can blast their new album from my car.

FAVORITE LYRIC
What this means to me is more than I know you believe.
What I thought of you now, has cost more than it should for me.
What I thought was true before, were lies I couldn't see.
What I thought was beautiful, is only memories.

Song Title: The Blues
Artist: Guns N' Roses
