There's no other band right now that would experiment so much with their music. In the 60s it used to be the Doors and Hendrix, they proved that music can be art and not just something to listen to in your car. The beginning of the 90s was the second period when there appeared some bands which were tired of what was going on in music at the time. Although the whole grunge scene was a breath of fresh air, and apart from that other bands experimented with electronics (Garbage, NIN), only the Pumpkins survived and are really pushing it to this day. They're a band that makes music exciting, and I'm positive that they've yet to record their best album, perhaps in 5-10 years time even, because the songwriting is getting better in my opinion, more mature. I just hope the next album won't be like Zeitgeist, personally I love it, but I'd rather they experimented and did something that noone would expect.

There's so many different sides of their music...no other band is like that. And the Pumpkins have a ton of songs that didn't make it on the albums, Aeroplane Flies High, Beginning is the End and the other way round, East, There it Goes, Gossamer. These are some of the best really.
